Identity design freelance iron handicrafts
il mio ferro battuto
REQUEST
The activity here is the restyling logo of a previous one drawed on paper from the client.
“Il mio ferro battuto” is an artisan who creates wrought iron handicrafts and art works also combined with other materials such as stone and wood. Tailored candelabras, wine racks, and many other wrought iron and artistic works are created by adopting techniques such as the use of the forge and iron working. The artist turned to me to create the brand identity and to redesign the existing logo.
Logo redesign idea
The idea of the logo consists of the name initials of the artist’s (P and C – Pietro Campagna) with a medieval style for the type of font used. This symbol is representing the tools to work wrought iron (clamp forge, hammer and anvil). The symbol represents the idea of the ancient craft as a predominant value.
It was also developed a secondary restyling logo with just the artist’s name and tagline, as well as the anvil used in main symbol. The font was chosen to evoke a connection to this ancient profession (medieval). Pure black was selected to add more elegance and luxury to the mark.
